Working as a Technician at Rietveld

Rietveld is looking for a field service technician based in Ermelo to serve customers in the region. You’ll install our fleet management and vehicle safety solutions in trucks, commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and machinery, among other things.

You’ll work both at a fixed location and on-site at customer locations. You’ll head out independently in a well-equipped service vehicle. You’ll carefully install equipment, test its functionality, and ensure that vehicles and machinery are delivered in good condition and ready for use.

In doing so, you’ll work with a wide range of solutions, such as onboard computers, track-and-trace systems, cameras, detection systems, vehicle security systems, and other electronic equipment.

What will you do as a technician?

  • Install fleet management and vehicle security solutions in vehicles and machinery.
  • Performing installation work at the depot and on-site at customer locations.
  • Assembling and connecting onboard computers, track-and-trace systems, cameras, and security equipment.
  • Testing the installed equipment and verifying that everything is functioning correctly.
  • Analyze malfunctions and resolve them immediately whenever possible.
  • Completely fill out digital work orders with the hours worked and materials used.
  • Maintain and replenish the technical inventory in your service vehicle in a timely manner.
  • Leaving the customer’s workspace and vehicle clean and tidy.

Your Responsibilities

As a technician, you are responsible for performing installation work correctly and safely. You work in accordance with applicable specifications, technical instructions, and safety regulations.

You check the quality and functionality of the equipment used. You take equipment or materials that do not meet the requirements out of service or reject them. To carry out your work, you may purchase small supplies within the agreed-upon limits.

You will also manage the daily technical inventory in your service vehicle. You will accurately record all materials used, equipment employed, and hours worked. While performing your duties, you will prevent damage to vehicles, machinery, materials, and the surrounding area.

Who are we looking for?

You recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • You have a VMBO or MBO level of work and thinking.
  • You have technical insight and enjoy working on vehicles and machinery.
  • Experience with automotive technology, vehicle electronics, or installation technology is a plus.
  • You have a valid Class B driver’s license.
  • You have a VCA Basic Safety Certificate or are willing to obtain one.
  • An SCM certificate is a plus, but not required.
  • You have a reasonable to good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
  • You can work independently and are willing to travel to customers in the region.
  • You work carefully and treat vehicles and customer property with care.
  • You are flexible and can adapt to changing tasks and circumstances.
  • You can analyze technical problems and solve them practically.
  • You are reliable, responsible, and easy to get along with.
